Samuel Gathaiya

Samuel has big dreams of becoming President. At home, his favorite place to be is close to his mom, who says he is a bit of a chatterbox. He likes singing, rolling tires, and playing with his handmade toy cars.  Samuel’s dad is sometimes employed as a manual laborer, and his mom is a housewife. Samuel is the fourth of five children in the family.

To James, a stranger is just a friend he hasn’t met yet, and he is confident enough to introduce himself to anyone. If you’re having a meal with James, he won’t let you eat before he prays. He is an enthusiastic singer and a dancer, and his mother has given him the nickname “Jimmy Charmer”.

Chris’s teacher describes him as an attentive and playful child. He is happiest in a large open field where he can have running races with his friends or play soccer.  Chris’s parents separated due to alcoholism and domestic violence.   His mom does manual labor to make ends meet.
