Naomi’s Village Flood Relief
Naomi’s Village Flood Relief
Naomi's Village Flood Relief
In 2020, Naomi’s Village suffered significant damages from a destructive flood after an earthen dam in the mountains suddenly burst. Major repairs were subsequently done to help rebuild our children’s home campus and the surrounding community. Early the morning of Monday, April 29th, after weeks of heavy rains, another disaster occurred. A blocked drainage tunnel caused a huge backup of water miles uphill. At 3 am Monday morning, approximately 400 million gallons of water burst through, demolishing homes and everything in its path as it rushed through multiple nearby villages.
While the damage hit our community hard, Naomi’s Village Home was untouched this time.
70+ Kenyans of all ages perished, and dozens remain missing. Flood water swept away hundreds of homes. Search and rescue efforts have begun around these locations, so undoubtedly the death toll will increase.
Over a hundred injured people quickly filled hospital beds in our region. With Kenya's doctors on a months-long strike, these patients' best chance at optimal care would be in a private hospital, which is unaffordable.
Dirt/stick homes, tin panel shanties, and stone houses with solid concrete foundations fared no differently in the path of this raging torrent. Worst of all, this happened to sleeping citizens, in the dark of night, with no rescue services available.
Recovery from this tragedy has just begun. People need clothing, food, water, counseling, spiritual support, and temporary shelter. In the days to come, there will be funeral expenses, homes to rebuild, and impassable roads and bridges to repair.
At Naomi’s Village, we are committed to helping with the restoration of our devastated community.

Cornerstone Preparatory Academy Expansion
Cornerstone Preparatory Academy Expansion
An opportunity to expand
On opening day in 2016, just 100 children attended Cornerstone Preparatory Academy. Eight years later, that number has grown to more than 350 students seeking a quality education daily. Extraordinary future leaders of Kenya now fill our current Cornerstone classroom spaces, providing all the impetus we need to continue expanding. Please help us to construct the facilities necessary to educate 1000 students at a time.
LEAP Preschool Current Needs
LEAP Preschool Current Needs
An opportunity to sponsor a future leader of Kenya
Sponsorship - Our LEAP Preschoolers are encouraged to dream big, play hard, and as they often sing "be a light for Jesus!" Every January, we welcome back 50 four-year-olds and a brand new class of 50 three-year-olds. As this is a new beginning, our preschoolers need your support! Meet our 100 preschoolers and through sponsorship, join us in encouraging a child as they embark on a journey where they are destined to achieve their greatest dreams.
Operations - Each day at LEAP, we are building a strong foundation for a lifetime of successful learning for 100 bright and highly optimistic preschoolers. We believe every moment of early childhood is a precious opportunity to grow and develop life skills, whether spent in healthy play, reading circles, academics, or excursions to zoos and museums. Our approaches to preschool education are modeled after numerous successful outcomes-based programs that prepare children to learn optimally when they advance to kindergarten and beyond.
We have $60/child/month pledged already but will need to add $100/child/month in order to satisfy the budgetary requirements for running LEAP properly in 2023. This is because 50 new 3-year-old students will be enrolled by year’s end and will have zero sponsors at the outset. As we work to raise sponsors for them, these funds will help to cover the gap.
Total need: $100 x 100 students x 12 months = $120,000 for 2023.

MTOTO: Serving Expectant Mothers and Infants
Invest in the Future of Kenya
Launched in 2019, our MTOTO Early Childhood Program empowers mothers with the knowledge and resources to raise healthy babies and toddlers, who will then be welcomed into LEAP Preschool at age 3. We do this through one-on-one in home training and a 12-week community Parenting Course. This initiative of Naomi's Village is a wonderful opportunity to invest in real change beginning at the earliest stage of life in Kenya.

US Administrative Needs
As part of our 3-year Strategic Plan for U.S. office growth and development, we plan to hire a Director of Development in 2023. Your contribution towards the first-year salary for this person, plus expected travel expenses, will help promote sustainability of our ministry, ensure that we carry out our long-term vision and goals for the children, and allow for a succession strategy for the founders while still leaving behind a stable and growing organization.
